Evgueni Poliakov

Dr. Evgueni Poliakov has over 30 year work experience in the areas of regional economics, impact evaluation, international trade, econometric estimation. He has Ph.D. in Regional Science from the University of Pennsylvania as well as Master degrees in Economics from the said university as well as the Moscow State University.

He had establishing the practice Economic Development in NEO in April 2022. He works on projects in economic development for international developmental organizations such as The World Bank and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations as well as on sector policy assessments in the EU.

Prior to that, he had been working over 13 years at TNO as a sr. researcher conducting research and consulting in European and Dutch regional and urban policies, impact assessment of R&D and sectoral policies, such as transport, industry, environment, jobs and skills. He had carried out econometrics estimation of the impact of different sectoral policies. He had also done research in macroeconomic modelling and input-output analysis. In addition, he had been active in the global analysis of economic growth and poverty.

Before that, he had been working over 12 years at The World Bank in Washington DC as a consultant specializing in regional economics, macroeconomics, trade and transport facilitation, agriculture in Europe and Central Asian countries as well as Africa.
